1What data we collect
We only collect what is needed to run this information site. We do not ask for personal data unrelated to the service.
- Technical logs: hashed IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referrer, pages viewed and timestamps — used for traffic statistics, troubleshooting and abuse prevention.
- Preferences: language, light/dark mode and cookie consent status, stored in your browser localStorage.
- Cart and account (life.hktv.my shop only): cart items and quantities, session identifier, and the name, email, delivery address and phone number you provide at sign-up or checkout.
- Content you send us: feedback, corrections and enquiries sent by email or form.
2What cookies are used for
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. We use four kinds:
- Essential: keep you signed in, hold your cart and protect forms (CSRF). Without them, sign-in and cart cannot work.
- Preference cookies / localStorage: remember your language and theme so you do not have to choose again.
- Analytics: aggregate-only statistics on which sections are popular; no data that identifies you.
- Advertising cookies: set by third parties such as Google AdSense to serve and measure ads (see next section).
3Google AdSense and third-party ad cookies
This site may display ads through Google AdSense to support its operation:
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.
- If you opt out of personalised ads you will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to your interests.
- We do not merge advertising cookie data with your account data, and we do not sell your personal data.
4Third-party services
To provide live information we fetch data from the following services. They receive your IP address and are bound by their own privacy policies:
- Hong Kong Observatory open data — weather and warnings.
- HK Government DATA.GOV.HK / 1823 — press releases, jobs, public holidays and other open data.
- Google Fonts and Font Awesome CDN — web fonts and icons.
- Google AdSense — ad serving and measurement.

- Aggregated results only, with no personal identifiers
6Your rights
Email admin@hktv.my and we will respond within 30 days.
- Access, correct or request deletion of the personal data we hold about you;
- Withdraw cookie consent at any time by deleting your browser cookies;
- Opt out of any promotional email (should we offer it in future).
7How to delete cookies
You can delete or block cookies at any time. Paths for common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → tick "Cookies and other site data".
- Safari (iPhone / iPad): Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data.
- Edge: Settings → Privacy, search and services → Clear browsing data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data.
- This site only: click the site-info icon at the left of the address bar → Cookies and site data → delete.
8Children
This site is aimed at the general public, is not directed to children under 13, and does not knowingly collect their personal data. Contact us if you believe this has happened and we will delete it.
9Updates and contact
When this policy changes we update the "Last updated" date above; significant changes are announced on the homepage.
